‘Modi government attends to people’s voices’

NEW DELHI: FM Nirmala Sitharaman, a frequent user of social media, on Sunday took to X to respond to a user’s suggestion seeking relief for the middle class.
“I recognise and appreciate your concern. PM @narendramodi ‘s govt is a responsive govt. Listens and attends to people’s voices. Thanks once again for your understanding. Your input is valuable,” she said. While seeking help for the middle class, the user had also recognised the “immense challenges involved” for govt.
In recent months, several social media users have complained of high levels of taxation, and govt has sought to explain that resources are required to meet the massive development and infrastructure works that have been undertaken. Besides, Sitharaman and her colleagues have often argued that the Modi govt has not raised taxes and rolled out schemes for the poor.
