In a candid interview with The Lallantop, he shared that director Vijay Krishna Acharya initially wanted to scrap their chemistry fearing audience discomfort. But Aamir firmly stated, “I’m neither her father nor her boyfriend, we’re just actors making a film,” arguing that viewers can easily distinguish on-screen fiction from reality. He also revealed that leading actresses like Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, and Shraddha Kapoor turned down the role before Fatima was finally cast after a strong screen test. He further admitted that the film’s script was repeatedly changed and didn’t work structurally, which led to its poor reception, despite his early warnings.
