Russian President Vladimir Putin revealed a new intermediate-range ballistic missile, named Oreshnik, in a surprise national address. The missile, launched in response to U.S. missile deployment plans, struck Ukraine’s Dnipro city earlier. Putin warned that Russia could use the missile against countries aiding Ukraine, promising advance warnings for civilians in danger zones. He also asserted that current air defense systems cannot intercept the missile, which travels at speeds of up to 10 Mach.
