Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday Israel had “settled its account” with Hamas’ top leader Yahya Sinwar as he announced his killing by the Israeli military. Netanyahu said Sinwar was a “mass murderer” responsible for the killing of thousands of Israelis and the architect of the “most terrible massacre” Oct. 7 attack on southern Israel. In the address, he also addressed the families of the Israeli hostages still held in Gaza, claiming it was an “important moment in the war” to secure their release. Watch.
