NATO Ally Snubs U.S.? Turkey 'Downgrades' F-16 Deal | Washington To Lose $23 Billion?

Turkey announced a major reduction in its $23 billion F-16 package with the U.S., canceling the purchase of 79 modernization kits. Defense Minister Yaşar Güler cited domestic capabilities for fleet upgrades, saving billions. Turkey will still acquire 40 new F-16 jets for $7 billion but plans to explore Eurofighter Typhoon jets and rejoining the F-35 program despite previous expulsion.
